Youri Zoon comes back to Dakhla - More Freestyle Action

We spoke to Current World Champion Youri Zoon about his trips to Morocco, and what he's been up to this year:

 Kitemorocco: Hi Youri, You've been to Dakhla, Morocco, quite a few times now. For the PKRA events, and also for the Freestyle Camp that we organized with you last summer, can you tell us some things you like about the spot?

Youri Zoon: i love to come back to dakhla every time , the place is pretty remote but it really gives you a good feeling. Every time i have been in dakhla the wind has just been cranking, windy every single day!

Kitemorocco: Yup, the wind stats for Dakhla are really high, especially during the summer months. This is the second year you will be doing a freestyle coaching camp with us in Dakhla... can you say something about the coaching you do or how you help motivate these guys to learn new tricks etc?

Youri Zoon: It's always great to teach people that are interested in learning something, last year we did the first camp which was a great success, this year within no time the camp was fully booked again.

Since most of the time it's windy all day the guys and girls that are joining the camp can keep on trying their new tricks every single day.

Kitemorocco: Any general view about morocco you wanna share? 

Maroc is an amazing country especially in the south where Dakhla is located, as i said before the place is very remote. But this really gives you the feeling your're in a whole different world.

Kitemorocco: Tell us a little bit about how your year is going, competition, trips, cool places you been to, whatever floats your boat :

Youri Zoon: 2012 is going pretty well, so far standing 2nd in the ranking. had 2 comps i couldn't really focus since i was traveling way to much. But i am getting everything back together and i wanna win again.

Kitemorocco: Thanks for that Youri. We're looking forward to the camp that starts on 20th of July. We have a nice mix of guys (and one girl!) who are coming to join us, and the wind has been blowing strong the whole time, so it should be perfect!  And wishing you lots of luck in the next PKRA event that starts soon!
